Shearwater invites you to join us on a sea kayak adventure into the deep heart of the Mediterranean.

Eastern Crete is a rugged landscape steeped in history with marvellous sea kayaking potential and far removed from the influences of mass tourism. The unique combination of warm crystal clear waters, secluded beaches on which you can swim and snorkel and balmy winds make for a very relaxing sea kayaking experience. Off the water, there is more than enough to keep you enthralled; rugged mountain gorges, interesting archaeological sites, the omnipresent smells of aromatic herbs and of course the world renowned hospitality and cuisine of the Cretans.

We will base ourselves in a 3 Star Hotel in the town of Sitia. Accommodation will be in single, double, twin or triple rooms (single room supplement applies). From there, we will travel daily to a variety of splendid sea kayaking locations After a day of activity, we will enjoy the very best of traditional Greek food.

Crystal clear waters of Koufinisi

We plan to cover 15-20 km by kayak per day but at a pace that will allow us time to stop and explore the many gorges, soak up the “smells” of Crete, visit some of the ruined Minoan Palaces or swim and snorkel where suitable. Winds in Crete can be strong at times and our trips will be planned with this in mind. Temperatures in April & October generally vary from 17-24 degrees celsius.

Cost: €850 per person.

This Includes:

Transfers to and from Heraklion Airport to Sitia (2 hour transfer time) on Friday 21st and Friday 28th October.
7 nights full board accommodation in The Itanos Hotel in Sitia (3 star) with the best of traditional Greek food on the menu each day.
6 days kayaking, guiding and hire of all equipment.

Flights to and from Crete. See Easyjet for Gatwick-Heraklion connection.
Single room supplement . Cost €15 per night.
Drinks with meals.
